When PETA cited small studies to suggest cow’s milk could be linked to autism, it reignited familiar debate around the condition’s causes. But such reporting, like more recent vaccine scares, risks framing autism as a problem to be prevented rather than a difference to be understood and valued. Lindsay O'Dell.
